The Merger is a blend of Tempranillo, Pinotage and Pinot Noir in varying amounts, again hand harvested, fermented separately with wild yeasts and matured together in American oak producing a smooth, rich, medium bodied wine with complex characters. Deep crimson, with an opaque hue. A complex, savoury and very individualistic wine on the nose with gamey aromas of dark berry fruit, forest floor, bitumen and fire ash, with herbal undertones. Softer than expected on the palate, lush and rounded, with supple, fleshy fruit and chewy, sappy tannins. Interesting and no doubt food-friendly.
