Our GiGi is a blend of Grüner Veltliner and Gewürztraminer The fruit is hand picked, de-stemmed and left for a few hours before being pressed in a basket press then the juice was fermented by wild yeast in an old oak barrel until dry. This wine is fruity and spicy but fresh in the bottle so more comprehensive notes to come. Updated 26/2/24

The 2022 Romping Rosé was made by Julian at Lynda’s request for a Rosé. He’s performed quite well and Lynda is happy to share this pretty summer wine with you.

Made from mainly Pinotage which is tenderly cared for by Lynda, this vibrant, pink, full bodied and crisp textured wine also has Pinot Noir and Tempranillo. Bright, pale vermilion red in hue. Clean, aromatic, primary nose with aromas of toffee apple, sour morello cherry and wild strawberry. Light-bodied and quite restrained on the palate with a firm acid finish.

Silver medal winner at the Alpine Pacific wine challenge October 2018. Our Gewürztraminer 2016 is more of an Alsatian stlye having a bit more acidity and less intense aromas than our normal New World style. The fruit is hand picked, de-stemmed and left for a few hours before being pressed in a basket press then the juice was fermented by wild yeast in an old oak barrel until dry. This wine has aromas of rose petal and geranium. The palate is round and smooth with lychees and Turkish delight and finishes with light, cleansing acidity. Updated 23/8/21

Total production 150 bottles. The wine is in the bottle and we are just waiting for a little more maturity………

The Pinot Noir fruit is hand picked, fermented with wild yeasts, a small element of whole bunches included in the ferment depending on the season and then matured in french oak resulting in a wine which is elegant, long and generous on the palate with aromas of ripe cherries and raspberries and a hint of spice. This wine is unfined and unfiltered meaning possibly more flavour and less clarity.

The label is different to pictured with a single label and each bottle being numbered up to the total of 150 bottles that were vintage 2023

We expect this wine to age well ie. for 10 years at least but we’ll keep you posted annually hopefully!

2010 was the first year we made wine on the Estate.This wine is bone dry and has 1.8g/l of residual sugar and was matured in old oak barrels. Ageing gracefully this wine has a hint of Jasmine, toasted oak, Kerosene and pineapple on the nose and the palate is concentrated and offers honey, grapefruit and a hint of creamed corn with light and crisp finish.

We have called this wine an off-dry aperitif and should be approached as one would a dry sherry. the wine was made in 2014 from Riesling and has spent 3 years maturing in oak barrels. It has 16% alcohol and has achieved this naturally, without fortification. It should be served well chilled and has generous aromas of dried apricot and new leather, the palate is rich and smooth with along, dry finish. Updated 23/8/21

Slightly cloudy, unfined hue. Boasting an intense, characterful, individualistic nose with interesting aromas of hemp, summer hay, dried field flowers, pink grapefruit, white pepper, and mellow barrel influence. A dry, rich, barrel-influenced style with typical green Grüner fruit flavours, plenty of toasty oak, fresh acidity and a long, finish adding to the impact.

. This wine lends itself to accompanying many food types like seafood, stir fry, cheese courses and Thai and Indian curry. Since this wine has recently been bottled the flavours and aromas will develop once opened and given time to breathe. Once opened a couple of days in the fridge will offer the consumer much more.

Gold medal was awarded at the Alpine Pacific Wine Challenge in October 2021. Grüner Veltliner 2020 has aromas of honey, beeswax and grapefruit with a hint of pineapple. The palate is crisp and juicy with citrus and floral flavours. The fruit was hand picked, pressed in a basket press then the juice was fermented by wild yeast in old oak barrels until dry. The wine will age gracefully and we’ll change the notes accordingly. The bottle and label will vary from the photo. The label has gold text and bottles have gold caps over antique green glass. This wine lends itself to accompanying many food types like seafood, stir fry, cheese courses and Thai and Indian curry. Since this wine has recently been bottled the flavours and aromas will develop once opened and given time to breathe. Once opened a couple of days in the fridge will offer the consumer much more. The Merger is a blend of Tempranillo, Pinotage and Pinot Noir in varying amounts, again hand harvested, fermented separately with wild yeasts and matured together in American oak producing a smooth, rich, medium bodied wine with complex characters. Deep crimson, with an opaque hue. A complex, savoury and very individualistic wine on the nose with gamey aromas of dark berry fruit, forest floor, bitumen and fire ash, with herbal undertones. Softer than expected on the palate, lush and rounded, with supple, fleshy fruit and chewy, sappy tannins. Interesting and no doubt food-friendly.

The Gathering 2021 is a blend of Chardonnay, Grüner Veltliner, Gewürztraminer and Riesling. An extremely interesting, dynamic, pungent nose with lifted aromas of ripe tropical fruit, rockmelon, nectarine, and citrus as well as vanilla pod and fresh cream. Rich, full-bodied, tasty, and dry with a generous texture, plenty of acidity to balance and a long, piquant G&T-like finish. An atypical but delicious dry white wine.

Restrained bouquet, but complex and appealing nonetheless.

There are some decidedly different and compelling aromas of salted limes, grapefruit skin, tonic water, white pepper, and pink Himalayan rock salt. On the palate, the wine is taut, dry, saline, and mineral in style with a crunchy texture, vivacious freshness, and a zesty citrus finish. Delicious drinking.

Enjoy this wine chilled with a wide range of food but especially seafood.
